What we do not store

Automatic filters can miss information. If personal information appears in a note, you can report this to the school for correction or deletion.

What remains stored, and for how long?

What is stored: subject-related learning notes, the teaching materials provided and, if the school allows a history, the questions and answers entered. The school sets the retention period. The default is one school year: the content is deleted at the end of the respective school year. For the regular Bavarian school year 2026/27 this is 31 July 2027. The school explains any different periods before use; longer storage requires a permissible purpose.

Unprocessed text is discarded after filtering, at the latest after 5 minutes. Separate periods apply to necessary login data and security logs: accounts are blocked when the authorisation ends and deleted within 30 days; access logs after 7 days at the latest, special administrative logs after 30 days. Deleted learning content also disappears from backup copies after 14 days at the latest.

Where is the data kept, and who has access?

Processing and storage take place on the school server, without external AI services. All files and data of the local school installation are encrypted in storage and in transit. The storage devices or data volumes are encrypted, for example with LUKS2 on Linux or FileVault on macOS. Connections use HTTPS/TLS. This also applies to backup copies; all storage locations and transmission paths are checked during setup at your school.

Learning content is accessible only to the persons in the learning group authorised by the school. TamerinTECH has no permanent access. Maintenance involving access to data requires a separate instruction from the school. Permitted access from home does not allow anyone to listen in on the classroom.

Can teachers check the notes?

Yes. Teachers can check, correct or delete learning notes. This review is optional; there is no mandatory approval step for every note. The notes are generated automatically from the agreed lesson segments. The teacher decides when speech processing is active and can stop it during private conversations. AI and filters can make mistakes; reported errors are handled through the school's reporting channel.

What applies to children and parents?

The school explains in advance which functions are permitted. Signing in does not replace any required consent. For voluntary offers there is an equivalent alternative without disadvantage and the option to withdraw consent. Anyone who must not be captured also needs a suitable solution in the classroom; simply not having an account is not enough.

Please do not write private information in questions, do not share login details and sign out on shared devices. Required account data and technical identifiers can be linked to a person; access is therefore not automatically anonymous.

Questions, errors or deletion requests?

Your school or its data protection officer will help you with access, rectification, erasure and objection under the statutory conditions. You receive the contact details from your school. You can also lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority. Details are set out in the full privacy concept.
